Successful networkers are memorable because they are always willing to help people solve problems. This does not mean that you have to do something memorable when you first meet someone.
It is usually what you do after you meet someone that makes you memorable.
I realized this when I received a text message: “Remember these?”
The text message was from Kelsey, an amazing girl I met on a college visit when I was a junior in high school. We have been really good friends ever since the day we met.
A couple of years ago for her birthday I sent her a pair of pajamas and slippers, after she commented how cold it was where she was currently living at the time.
She later told me on the phone that night “Every night when I put on my slippers I think of you.”

4 Simple Ways You Can Help Someone Solve A Problem
Send someone a helpful article on the topic with which they are struggling.
Introduce a person to someone in your network who could help solve his or her problem.
Teach someone to use a program or application with which they are struggling.
Recommend a great book that you read on the topic with which they are struggling.
A Personal Example: When I first started using Twitter I was unaware that you could use apps such as Hootsuite and TweetDeck to help mange your Twitter account. My mentor Deirdre Breakenridge taught me how to use both platform in about an hour. I use both platforms on a daily basis and Deirdre always comes to mind when I use them.
